This privacy policy explains what personal information Brushwright (“we”, “us”) collects when you use this website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
Information you give us
If you send us a message through the contact form or by email, we receive your name, your email address and what you write. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we receive your email address. We use this information only to reply to you or to send the newsletter you asked for.
Calculators
Our calculators run entirely in your browser. The measurements and numbers you enter are not sent to us or stored on our servers. Your choice of units (feet and gallons, or metres and litres) is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers it on your next visit. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our server records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you requested and the time of the request. We use this to keep the site secure and working. We may also use analytics services to understand, in aggregate, which pages are read and how visitors find the site. Where analytics is used, we configure it to limit the data collected and we do not use it to identify you personally.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and secure, to remember your preferences, to measure how the site is used, and, if advertising is shown, to deliver and measure ads. Newsletter
If you subscribe, your email address is stored by our email service provider, who sends the newsletter on our behalf. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing removes you from future mailings.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site, such as our hosting company, email provider, analytics provider and advertising partners, and only as needed for them to provide their services. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the site.
Where your information is stored
Our service providers may store and process information in Canada, the United States and other countries. Information stored outside your country may be accessible to courts and authorities there under local law.
How long we keep information
We keep contact messages for as long as needed to answer them and for a reasonable period afterwards, and no longer than two years. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, to withdraw consent, and to object to certain uses. This includes rights under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and provincial law, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, and privacy laws in US states such as California.
We do not sell personal information. If you live in a US state that gives you the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising, you can exercise it by declining personalised ads through the links in the advertising section above, or by contacting us. Children
This website is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the information we hold.
